The global death toll from coronavirus reached 479,879 till Wednesday, according to latest data from worldometer.

While 93,59,279 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, 50,46,272 have recovered, the source said.

Besides, 38,33,128 are active cases worldwide till date.

Among the countries, the US has been the worst-hit with the highest recorded deaths of 123,475 patients and 24,24,418 confirmed cases, worldometer reported.

The UK has the third-highest death toll at 42,927, followed by Italy with 34,675, France 29,720, Spain 28,325, and Canada 8,454, according to worldometer.
